The Benzies Foundation is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO)* established in 2012 in Edinburgh.
The Benzies Foundation aims to promote health and fitness amongst communities within Scotland through the following:
- Providing scholarships to individuals or teams who are enthusiastic but financially unable to participate in their chosen sports
- Providing funding to develop sporting facilities in Scottish communities, therefore encouraging public participation in sport.
We obtain our funding through private donations and allocate these funds across the year on a case-by-case basis. To apply for a scholarship or facilities/equipment funding please refer to the pages entitled Scholarships and Sporting facilities. NB We are currently closed for applications - please keep checking the site for an update.
*A SCIO is an optional new legal form for registered Scottish charities. For more information on SCIO's please refer to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) at www.oscr.org.uk.
